Tatty Twinkle

Firstly, I would like to apologise for being a very bad blogger this year. I have barely posted and have rarely had the chance to visit your blogs. :-(  I hope that the new year sees much better health all round in my house!

So, on to my last post of the year. This was my last card for the Papercraft Essentials competition. I have used a Tatty Twinkle stamp teamed up with papers from the Romance and Roses collection from NitWit Collections.

I used a couple of tag sentiments from LOTV and the Magnolia DooHickey fence die.
And finally,
I would like to say a big thank you to Annette for encouraging me to go in for the competition - I needed a bit of a push :-)

Thank you for coming to see me this year, I really appreciate it. I hope the next year brings all good things! Hugs, Jayne  xxxx

Runner Up at Papercraft Essentials :-)

This was one of my entries for Papercrafter of the Year in Papercraft Essentials. I had assumed that this along with the windmill I made had not floated the judge's boat as the closing date was back in November. I was one happy bunny at the weekend when I bought the magazine to see that I had come runner-up!
I made this ages ago and am in asleep deprived haze (Isis is poorly again) and so am very foggy on details. The papers are from Raspberry Road - I think it's the White Christmas collection. The poinsettia is from Spellbinders and the image is one of my favourite  Lili of the Valley images.

I doubt I'll get to post again before Christmas so I will take this opportunity to say thank you for all your support this year; at times it's kept me going! Hope that you have the best Christmas. Sending hugs, Jayne xx

Divas By Design - Anything Goes - last challenge :(

What, no embellishments!!!!!

I made this card for the lovely Squirrel's Without Words 'Modern Christmas' challenge. CAS cards bring me out in a rash, but it's important to keep giving them a go - the challenge does me good. Probably.

How funny is this image? I love it ;-) It's called Monster Christmas and is from the digi stamp boutique and is a super bargain at 99p. The papers are from the Polar Pals collection over at NitWit Collections.
My daughter found the card in my pile of finished cards and asked if I would send it to her for Christmas - what other seal of approval do I need!

My little girl has I hope now turned a corner and her chest infection is hopefully improving. I've never known her to be this poorly and it's been really stressful. Of course, now I have it :-(

I've put a ramshackle collection of craft items on ebay if you're interested!

Time for the school run. Biggest of hugs, thank you for popping by. Jayne xx

ALBC Anything Goes - except Christmas!

Apologies for another super quick post - I was awake most of the night with my youngest daughter and am hoping to get her to the doctors this morning!

It is with a very heavy heart I have to tell you that this is the last ALBC challenge.  Sniffles all round. I must say a huge thank you to Paula for having me as part of her fabulous DT - I am very grateful. It has been such a happy time to be part of such a fabulous family.

This is my offering for the Anything Goes (except Christmas).
I made the Windmill using the Dreamees Templates and More 2 CD. This is such a fab set of projects and papers and I'm really grateful to Carol and Hayley for sending it to me. The papers are from the delish Romance and Roses collection from NitWits.
This was one of my entries for the Papercraft Essentials Cardmaker of the Year - it didn't wow the judges but it has to be the thing I have most enjoyed making this year and it reminded me of why I took up crafting in the first place.
I finished it off with a super cute Magnolia image.

Right, that's me. Fingers crossed I get a doctor's appointment.  Hope you can join us for this last ALBC challenge. Sniff. Sniff.  Hugs, Jayne xxx

A get well offering!

This was one of my entries for Crafter of the Year in Cardmaking and Papercraft. I love this little LOTV stamp and the papers from Raspberry Road Designs were perfect. I even treated myself to some (more) WOC flowers ;-)
I used some glossy accents on the puddle and in the 'medicine' bottle!
Excuse my 'death by photo' post!
I was really super chuffed to get runner up. Big congrats to my teamies who also came runner up. Not sure if they've announced it on their blogs so I won't name them.

Biggest of hugs, Jayne xx

Dreamees on Create and Craft Today!

The ladies from Dreamees are on Create and Craft today with fab goodies at 2pm and 7pm :-)

This is a card I made from delish Dreamees goodies some while back. Sorry about the photos - this was with the old camera just before it died!

I used some WOW embossing powder and a scrummy pink ribbon and it was job done. Thank you for the good wishes regarding the joint pain I have at the moment. I tried some colouring yesterday and decided that colouring may not be an option for a while!
That's me for today. Hope you're having a great week. TGI Friday!!!

Hugs, Jayne xx

Snow-vember!

Over at Squirrel's blog we're just over half way with the Snow-vember challenge. Basically, we'd like to see cards with snow people/animals on them. Thank you to all who have entered - Squirrel's worked super hard and produced a mountain of snow creature cards :-)

Now, I've lost the packaging for this little fella - he's one of my oldest stamps, but I think he's from Personal Impressions. The fab paper is from the Polar Pals kit over at NitWit Collections.
My poor hands are super painful today - Carpal Tunnel and heaven knows what else. I'm not going to the doctor - I just don't want to know!! So I shall say goodbye for now. Hope you're having a great weekend. Biggest of hugs, Jayne x

Snow Princess Too!

I have only made 14 Christmas cards! I think that may well be the worst total ever at this point! Pitiful. I shall be heading to Card Factory. The shame.

This one is made using the beautiful Snow Princess Too papers from NitWit Collections.

I treated myself to Grand decorative labels One :-)  I've used the Spellbinders poinsettia die and the La La Land heart banner.
This is still one of my favourite LOTV images - she just looks lovely in any colour combo.
Thank you for visiting - I'm sending hugs. Jayne xxx

Not a Square over at Crafty Little Fairies!

This month over at Crafty Little Fairies we want to see anything but square cards! Great excuse to get those scrummy huge dies out :)

My card today teams the lovely LOTV snowman image with the NitWits Polar Pals Collection. I've used the Spellbinders poinsettias die too.

Aww, I love this image :)

It's a school morning so gotta run!!! Hope that you get the chance to join us this month.

Thank you for all your kind words and hugs, I really appreciate it! Hugs, Jayne x

Snowvember and Less is More!

Apologies for my absence from blogland and my total failure to come and visit your blogs :-(  I don't have words for the last few weeks. I'm hoping things can only get better :-)

I made this card as a sample for the local craft shop (Samual Taylor's)  It's not really my thing, but I can only use what they sell in the shop so I'm a bit limited! The super cute chubby snowman is from Woodware and he just makes me smile - short and plump. He's me in snowperson form ;-)

So, it's Snowvember over at the lovely Squirrel's blog! You have a month to join in the snowman fun! All you need to do to enter is make a card featuring a snow person.

Over at Paula's blog, A Little Bit Crafty, we are have a Less is More challenge. I'm more of a more is more kinda gal, but it is supposed to be a challenge!!

There are lots of fab prizes up for grabs and I hope that you get the chance to join in.

Hugs, Jayne xx

Dress Shoppe!

This is my first card using the NitWit Collections 'Dress Shoppe' design set.
I've used the Sue Wilson bow die and the Die-namics petal die. The mannequin is from the Digi stamp boutique and is the dress and mannequin set. I first saw the digi stamp over at Lorraine's blog and when a friend asked me for a card with a pretty dress on I knew where to go! Hmm, Mrs B's blog costs me a small fortune :-)
Right, I've got to go as it's parent drop in morning at school.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it!  Hugs, Jayne x

Sunday 5 October 2014

One design paper over at Crafty Little Fairies!

Oooh, I struggled with this one and I'm not happy with the results. Ho hum. I'm just not feeling crafty at all at the moment.  I think most of us go through this kind of phase but mine has lasted quite a while!
Anyhoo, the snowman stamp is from Kanban and is very old but I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've used it! Naughty girl!

I hope that you get the chance to join us, we have lots of crafty prizes up for grabs. Biggest of hugs, Jayne xxx

Wednesday 1 October 2014

BOO! over at A Little Bit Crafty.

This month we've come over all spooky at A Little Bit Crafty. The title of the challenge is Boo! So I'm thinking Halloween or a card with an element of surprise is the way to go. This is my offering - I avoided the challenge all together for most of the month and then made it in a mad rush a couple of days ago!
I found the image right at the last minute but just loved it the minute I saw it. It's a Wee digi stamp and was a bargain at £1.85 :-) I'm lacking in the orange copic department so this is the best I could do. The papers are DCVW. I've gone all CAS because I have no Halloween embellishments!!
We have fabulous prizes up for grabs so I hope that you get the chance to join us.

We had a meeting with my daughter's class teacher and the Special Needs Co-ordinator last week and I am hopeful that things improve. So far this week has been good for her and we've had no tears. I hate sending an unhappy child to school and am praying that things get better.

Thank you for stopping by, I love it when you do! Hugs, Jayne x

High Heels!

I think that this is the quickest card I've ever made due to the fact someone asked me for a card with high heels and they needed it NOW! Thank goodness for Bugaboo digistamps :)

I teamed the heels with the Kitsch papers from Craftwork Cards. The die namics flower die saved the day with matching flowers!
The colouring is a little ropey but it was done at lightning speed.

Thank you for stooping by. Biggest of hugs, Jayne x

Who's up for another Christmas card?

The Christmas card making is now in full swing :-) I'm really going to make an effort this year - no last minute trips to the Card Factory for me!
I think that this digi is called 'Gift of Time Together'. I first saw it when lovely Lorraine from Mrs B's blog sent me a Christmas card using it - and what a stunner of a card it was!
It's the Snow Princess and Snow Princess Too papers again! Firstly, I love the papers and secondly, I have run out of paper and this is the only stuff I have printed off!!!!!
For some reason my CAS cards always look more unfinished than CAS but I'm trying.

I'm entering the card into the following:
Without Words - It's a Celebration challenge

It's the start of a new school week and I have my fingers crossed for a better day for my little girl. I have sent in a letter for the teacher and hope we can work together to change things for the better. Here's hoping  . . . .

The Great Penguin Challenge 2014 - card number 3!

So this is my third and last card for the Great Penguin Challenge of 2014 now running on Squirrel's blog. I had meant to post this yesterday but ran out of time!

This is a really old Crafter's Companion SWALK image - but I love it and it's a lovely one to colour. The papers are from the Snow Princess and Snow Princess Too  collections from NitWit Collections. I've used the Arboscello Tree die from Memory Box - partly because it has been much neglected lately.
I must go and try and get an early night. My little girl is really very unhappy in her new class at school and I'm struggling with the teacher. I shall persevere - I just hope we can have a week without tears :(

Thank you for coming to see me! Biggest of hugs, Jayne x

Have you entered the Great Penguin Challenge 2014?

Over on the very lovely, yet slightly crackers, Squirrel blog there is, now running, the Great Penguin Challenge of 2014. Have you entered? It's been super fun and such a great idea :)

All you need to do is make a card featuring penguins. Simples!! So, this is my second penguin card (I have a further one to come - yep, Squirrel has sent me penguin loopy!!)
I just love the shape of these Craftwork Cards card blanks (thank you Annette!) The image is LOTV and the papers are 'Snow Princess' and 'Snow Princess Too' from NitWit Collections. The sentiment is from a free set of stamps that came  with the latest copy of Simply Cards and Papercraft.

Apologies for being a very bad blogger lately. The start of a new school year for those of us with children who have any type of additional needs always seems to be fraught.I'm not sure if it's just this particular school but we all seem to be fighting the same battles this year as last. And the year before that :(  Onwards and upwards :)
Hoping that you are having a fab week and  have a great weekend. We are hoping to get to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Thank you for stopping by, hugs, Jayne xx

Distress It at ALBC midway reminder!

Just a quick reminder that our challenge over at ALBC this month is 'Distress it'.
This is my new favourite LOTV stamp :) I just love the look on little James's face! The papers, which are absolutely fabulous, are from the Raspberry Road Designs 'Spring Rain' collection. I have much neglected my Raspberry Road papers; I don't know about you but I get stuck in a rut and I just use the same collections over and over!

The flowers are part of my extravagent shop at Wild Orchid Crafts. I assure you that I needed everything I purchased. I'm sure, one day, my husband will understand this! hehehe.
Gosh, what a weekend! How much homework can a seven year old get? Blimey, even I'm exhausted. We have made a Roman Shield, read a book about Anne Frank, did a sheet of maths, times tables and produced a poster. I don't know where the weekend went!

So, that's me for today. I hope very much you get the chance to join us this month - the distressing theme is super easy! Right, I'm off to watch Rizzoli and Isles. Hugs, Jayne xx

Making a start on Christmas!

Oh my, I am going to be in a real pickle come December if I don't step up my Christmas card making. I have made less than 10. Hmm, possibly not even 5. Shocking. I have a Hunkydory whopper of a kit waiting for me to get cracking but I am exhausted and it just isn't happening. Someone please motivate me ;-)

I made this card with the Polar Pals collection of papers from NitWit Collections. I absolutely love the scrummy aqua and red together - get that gingham :-)

I am, as usual, a little hazy on the detail - blame the M.E. or the exhaustion brought on by chasing a one year old! I just love life's little quirks.

The sentiment is definitely from a Dreamees CD and the large snowflake is a Spellbinders die - I bought the set at Samuel Taylor's when they were on sale for £10  :-)  Other than that I am hopelessly lost - it looks like a Sugar Nellie image. - Yay for Squirrel!!! You are quite right, this is a Nellie Snellen stamp :)  Cheers hun! Ok, shame on me. I will take notes next time I make a card. I LOVE it when I go to a blog and people have listed what they've used. It's super helpful, and I am jealous of their super organized-ness!!!!!

I am crawling off to bed. We have a lot of homework this weekend - I'm not really in the mood to make a Roman Shield and we sure do have an awful lot of paint splashed around just to make one shield ;-)

Thank you for coming to visit, biggest of hugs, Jayne xxxx

The Great Penguin Challenge 2014!!!!

So, I got a peculiar text from Squirrel this week. In all honesty, I'm pretty used to peculiar texts from my little Woodland friend, but this text was particularly bonkers :)  Anyhoo, I eventually understood that she was suggesting running a penguin themed challenge from her blog which seemed like a genius idea to me! And so The Great Penguin Challenge of 2014 was launched. She has lots of fabulous penguin cards on her blog today so hop on over to admire her handywork :)

This is my offering:
Just how cute are these LOTV penguins?

The papers are from the Festive Trimmings Collection over at NitWit Collections.
I hope that you get the chance to join us in some penguin fun :) Biggest of hugs, Jayne xx

Bling and Sparkle over at Crafty Little Fairies!

It's bling and sparkle over at Crafty Little Fairies this month. :-) What is not to love!!
I just love this stamp from LOTV - I would like a cake just like that!! The papers are from NitWit Collections and are part of the Sweet Preserves collection. They are just super yum.
It was first day back at school for my big girl (now 7). I worried all day but she was fine when I picked her up. The class each got to choose their own target - my daughter chose the following 'to learn how to go round corners on her two wheeler scooter without wobbling'. Awesome.

So, I hope you're having a super week - the nice weather seems to have returned. I hope that you get the chance to join us this month. Hugs, Jayne xxx
