Pretty pastels over at Lili's Little Fairies

It's Thursday already!!!! This week has flown and I've got next to nothing achieved. I've decided to take Lorraine's very sound advice and stop trying to catch everything up - it ain't ever gonna happen!

It's an easy peasy challenge this week - Pretty Pastels. Just my thing, and for once it didn't take me hours to make the card!

Card ingredients:
Kanban cardstock
LOTV image and grunge sentiment
Spellbinders Create a Flake 3
Lace, cheesecloth - Wild Orchid Crafts
Tulle and charm from my stash

This image is one one of my all time favourites - it reminds me of my little girl :)

Most importantly I have (under orders!) to share this crown that my daughter made at the weekend. I helped with the cutting but everything else is her own work!
Hope that you get the chance to join us this week. Big hugs, Jayne xx

Wild Rose Wedding!

This is another project I made for the Cradmaking and Papercraft Cardmaker of the Year Competition. I was super chuffed to win the category as it was one of those projects that turned into a real labour of love! I had this idea of a wedding cake box - it was one of those ideas that sounded good at the time. I hadn't quite realised how tricky a round box would be to make!! The first one I made was way too big so I had to start again from scratch!!

The couple are Wild Rose Studio stamps (they come separately) and I coloured them with copics. The scrummy papers are Wild Rose Studio 'Letter From Paris' which I think is my favourite collection ever! I used the Martha Stewart scalloped punch around the bottom and trimmed with pearl and pearl drop trim from ebay. The flowers are from WOC. Unfortunately, I didn't get a piccie of inside the box but I did decorate it with papers and more pearl trim.

Inside I made a card to match.
Again the stamp is from Wild Rose and is just about the prettiest wedding cake stamp I've seen! I've trimmed with lace and yummy tulle and added the odd Magnolia dragonfly for good measure.

I didn't enter many categories this year as the competition coincided with my trip to hospital. I would like to thank lovely Christine at my local Craft Shop who saved the entry form for me and Squirrel for encouraging me to give the comp a bash. I've met so many lovely friends through crafting and I'm really grateful for all your support.

Thank you for stopping by today, I'll be back tomorrow with my Fairy post. Super big hugs, Jayne xx

Anything Goes (except Christmas!) at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog!

There were some super stunning entries for the last challenge; thank you all for entering. For this challenge it's pretty much anything you want to make - except Christmas cards! I was sent some super cute Suzy's Zoo decoupage from Sheenie towers. As you know decoupage is not my strong point and I have a habit of snipping something vital to the picture - here I abandoned cutting the single dandelion as it way too tricky for me!! Anyhoo, the images in this decoupage pack are huge and are great if you like making big cards.

The papers are from a Dovecraft pack and seemed to suit the image really well - they're mainly purple so what's not to love. I tried not to go mad with embellies on this one - see, just one flower. Squirrel will be so proud! The bunting was made using the Whimsy Stamps Banner Pennant die and the paper flowers are from a Magnolia DooHickey. The beautiful doily is the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily die bought from the Wobbly Shelves at Sheenie Towers.

The challenge lasts for two weeks; I hope that you get a chance to join in ! It's been an odd few days. Since the school disco Indigo has become obsessed with Gangnam style which I have now heard a hundred times. She's also taken to dancing around in her undies and tap shoes to Lady Gaga!!!! I have no idea where she gets it from! Hmmm. Super hugs, Jayne xx

Blooming inserts!

I've spent most of the day making the 'insides' to cards I'd half finished. It's my least favourite crafty job and every time I do it I vow to finish the inside of a card each time I make one - or else I end up with 20 half finished cards lying about the place. I've got a few images coloured and good to go but I am making myself finish this job first :(

Today I've got a beautiful Saturated Canary image called Honey to share. She is currently me favourite (but this changes quite often). The papers are Papermania and are beautiful but you can't see any of them. Bad girl - I will endeavour to embellish less. (Yeah right!)

My aim this week is to enter some challenges - I must force myself not to be super lazy.

I've used lots of Sizzix dies here - the fence (coated with black ink dauber) butterfly border, weathered clock die  and tattered flowers. The dragonflies are a Magnolia DooHickey and I think it's my most used die.

I'm going to go finish these cards; might have a cuppa first though. Super hugs for the weekend. Oh, and guess which numpty missed her blogaversary? What a prize chump. I'm going to get a little bit of candy together and hope to be giving some away next week. Mwah! Hugs, Jayne xx

Anything Goes at Lili's Little Fairies!

This week it's Anything Goes over at the Fairies. Up for grabs is a J&C Creations voucher -two excellent reasons to get entering any kind of LOTV creation you want!

Back to traditional Christmas colours - using my new Nitwit papers again. The flowers and ribbon are from WOC and the buttons were in my stash.

I'm going to make a dash up to the shop before it starts throwing it down - it's already blowing up a gale!

Big hugs, Jayne xx

Merry Chris-Mouse!

Okay, so I went totally OTT with the embellies here but in fairness, I did make it after the CAS card so I was suffering from withdrawal symptoms!

I think Joanna Sheen is possibly the only person alive that could get me decoupaging! Jeez, cutting these berries out was a real labour of love. This image is my favourite from the Joanna Sheen, House Mouse Volume Tow Project Book. I am sooooooooo glad I bought it (those naughty Sheenie DT ladies lead me astray!) The papers are from a Nitwit collection I downloaded yesterday (I am now totally broke :(

The decoupage is quite big so I went for and 8"x8" card. The flowers and ribbon were from WOC and the doily and buttons were in my stash.

I'm off to make some more Christmas cards and finish those with no inserts.

Hope everyone is having a good week. Huge thanks for your comments on the CAS card; I really am trying!!!! Hugs, Jayne xx

A second attempt at CAS!

I made an early New Years Resolution. In a moment of madness/stupidity I decided that next year my goal is to make top 3 at Without Words. Now, after more thought, it occurs to me that my best (only) chance of this EVER happening would be if, one month, nobody else entered. So, perhaps next year, maybe January (early achievements are good), you could all not enter. I'd be really grateful; I might even make buns.

So, here we are with my second attempt at CAS. I think it's fair to say that I have no idea what I'm doing. Still, I'm giving it a go, and swearing less than first time round :D

The theme this month is 'Bright' - which obviously is soooooooo me. I came out in a total lather with this one. The image and papers are from Polkadoodles SugarPlum Dasiy CD and I've coloured with copics.

Thank you for stopping by - is it the weekend yet?  Hugs, Jayne xx

Christmas Shaker!

I made this in the summer for a magazine competition and have recently received a big pile of Katy Sue Designs goodies as my prize :) The image is from a Katy Sue Designs CD - I am beyond hopeless as I can't remember which one. Duh! I'm going to start making lists when I make a card!!

I used:
Katy Sue Designs CD ROM
Joanna Sheen - Jane Shasky 'Heart of the Garden' backing paper
Magnolia DooHickey Picket fence die
Dreamees die cut sign post - how fab is that!!
Martha Stewart Snowflake PATP
Spellbinders Create a Flake 3
White Flower Soft
Creative Expressions Organza Flower

We've been bowling this afternoon. My five year old daughter is a demon bowler :) We had such a fab time but now I'm shattered! Hope you've had a good weekend. I've got more stamps and Cds on ebay to fund Christmas!! Big hugs, Jayne xx

Food, Glorious Food over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Apologies that this post is late and unfinished. I had a really long diagnostic hospital appointment this morning and am now just shattered. I am sooooo unbelievably relieved that the lump and pain I've had for a while aren't what I feared. Blimey, it's been a hideous few weeks - I really need a lie down in a darkened room with some cake!! I am very sorry that I've been worse than normal with my blog visits - the stress of everything has been just rubbish!

So, this week over at the Fairies we want to see LOTV images that feature food. What's not to love? Here's my effort (I do so love those meece)
I'll try and finish the post later when I've had a bit of a rest. I bet I sleep loads better tonight! The biggest of hugs, Jayne xx

Anyone for Cake?

Well, I've abandoned my diet on the basis that I'm not technically overweight, I'm just heavier than I was, I wasn't happy when I was thinner, life is too short and most importantly I LOVE biscuits. Depriving myself of chocolate digestives is not good for my mental health. I'm a nicer person when I've eaten biscuits so really being a bit chubby is a small price to pay!!!!!!

Obviously, food is on my mind at the mo which is probably why I headed straight for this stamp yesterday!

I love this cheery girl and her huge cake! My kinda birthday :) I've coloured her with copics, alas my pink copics seem to be on their last legs. Might have to treat myself! The papers are from the Kitschy Kitchen pad from (Possibly) Mary Frances. The beautiful crocheted flower is from the Range.

Hope you're ok. Thank you for stopping by, it keeps me sane! I'll be back again tomorrow with the Lili's Little Fairies new challenge. Big hugs, Jayne xx

White Christmas!

Hmm, me no likey this one, but I'm still knee deep in lick 'n' stick birthday cards and it looks like I'm going to be making 'em for a while longer, so I've nothing else to post.

I will attempt to make something else tomorrow so I've got a worthwhile card to post. I really, really need to get cracking with some Christmas cards. I need to think of a quick design I can do in bulk. The good news is that I've sold enough of my craft stash on ebay to buy my gorgeous girl a DSi. Yippee.

Super hugs, Jayne xx

All things bright and beautiful over at Lili's Little fairies!

You may need to get your shades out for this one!! I got to use the 'Madison' paper pad by Penny Black that I won last month over at the All Sorts challenge blog :) They're quite bright papers for me but once you get started with throwing on embellies it seems to tone the papers down a bit!!!!

So, this weeks challenge is super easy; just make sure your card uses lots of bright colours.

Ahh, look at little James the Bear - how cute is he? I've used all the usual suspects and got into a fight with the Martha Stewart Cherish PATP. Why can I not line this one up properly? I really am following the instructions, but end up with ends that don't meet (a bit like the button on my size 8 jeans at the mo!!!!). I've no idea where I'm going wrong. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Ribbon Girl. Hope you get the chance to play.

A break from Christmas!

I am sooooooooo behind with making Christmas cards, I'm in such a pickle. I'm gonna have to abandon hand coloured cards and go for lick'n'stick cards real soon or about five people will get a card!! Ooopsie.

I made this a while ago but thought we could all do with a break from seeing Christmas cards!

In making this card I discovered that I am rubbish at colouring plums! hehehe. Still, it kept me busy for ages!
I stamped the jar image onto acetate and then 'filled' the jar with lots of cherries that took quite some time to cut and colour.

 For this card I used:
Lots of Kraft card!
Joanna Sheen Country Kitchen Stamps - Plum and Cherry jam
Joanna Sheen Kitchen Jars stamps
Copics
Acetate
Magnolia DooHickey Dragonflies
WOC flowers and Jute Mesh
Antique Linen Distress ink

So that's me for today. Back to making Christmas cards. Big hugs, Jayne xx

A baby boy!

Good grief, everyone seems to be having babies! Is it something in the water? I am working overtime just to keep up with new baby cards! I am sooooo behind after half term, it feels like I'll never catch up.

Another LOTV image coloured with copics. The papers are from a freebie Papermania CD which I got with a magazine - possibly Simply Cards and Papercrafts. The papers are really fabulous and I love the colour.

 I used:
LOTV sentiment and image stamp
Papermania papers
Memory Box Spring Border die
Magnolia DooHickey dragonfly die
WOC flowers
Ribbon Girl tulle
Copics

I've put loads of stamps and crafty stuff on ebay as I'm trying to raise funds to buy my gorgeous girl a Nintendo DS for Christmas! Grab yourself a bargain! Have a great week, hugs, Jayne xx

Snow is Falling over at Lili's Little Fairies!

Huge apologies for being such a bad blogger, not posting and not visiting your blogs. Life really is getting in the way at the moment but I won't bore you with the details. I really am sorry and hope everything improves soon.

Over at the Fairies we have another Christmas challenge, which is good because I've barely made any Christmas cards! The theme is 'Snow is falling' so the possibilities are endless. Obviously, you will need some snow!

I do love this snowflake PATP set from Martha Stewart. It's the only one I can line up properly! This took ages because I just can't find my crafty groove. You know when you're sat there surrounded by paper and embellies and just can't make anything work? I'm sure it will come back to me!

I'm hazy on the detail for a change!
Papermania - Home For Christmas papers
Spellbinders Create a Snowflake 3
LOTV image and grunge sentiment
WOC lace, cheesecloth, flower and ribbon
Antique linen Distress Ink
Copics

This weeks sponsor is Mary Fran over at NitWit Collections and there is a $10 gift voucher up for grabs :D

So how do you think I'm doing with my 'cutting down on the use of embellishments' drive? I am a lost cause. Hope you get the chance to visit my DT sisters whose cards this week are utterly stunning! Big hugs, Jayne xx
